Fastest Growing eBay.com Sellers March 2016 Report

Just like in the Ebay.com February 2016 report the fastest growing sellers in March were not based in the US, and are largely selling out of China. The top seller this month is COSPLAY WIG 999 by style-trends-365, selling wigs, as the name suggests. Overall we are seeing a lot of niche sellers growing like rybaanat out of Russia selling vintage postal stamps, which are able to offer unique products despite not being based in the US. Shipping and logistics have became so good that even retailers thousands of miles away are competitive with local businesses.

This week we’re happy to announce that our dataset now includes research from Amazon.de, as well as Ebay Germany. This is of particular interest because Amazon.de is the largest Amazon marketplace after Amazon.com and also accounts for the largest ecommerce site in Germany.

Now when browsing sellers you can quickly glance at the amount of products they have in stock and also what categories are those products spread across. This makes it that much more easier to understand what focus does a seller have.

Fastest Growing eBay.com Sellers February 2016 Report

We only just launched Ebay analysis, but we are ready to start analyzing the growth of all sellers in the marketplace. What surprised us is how many of the top sellers are not based in the USA. China and India both look very strong in the list, offering great selection and prices to buyers thousands of miles away. Ebay is still a new marketplace for us, so we are just learning about the intricate details of it - expect much more in the future as we unravel more details.

Amazon vs eBay 2015 Q4 financial reports compared

Both Amazon and eBay recently announced their 2015 Q4 results. Since the fourth quarter has most of the key shopping events - Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Christmas shopping - everyone was excited to see how well those companies did. We have recently started monitoring eBay sellers so we looked at which one came out ahead.

Top eBay.com and eBay.co.uk sellers are now on Marketplace Pulse

In an announcement by Amazon earlier this month, it was revealed that Fulfillment by Amazon shipped more than 1 billion products for sellers worldwide. Furthermore, sellers using the FBA service grew more than 50 percent year-over-year. Amazon did not disclose the growth rate of other sellers, but we can only assume that overall FBA sellers do better than merchant fulfilled ones. Having access to Prime customers is a big push.

Amazon Opens a Handmade Marketplace

On Thursday Amazon opened a stricly handcrafted-goods marketplace. Handmade at Amazon is their first venture into competing with the likes of Etsy at selling handmade products. Etsy has been able to grow their yearly sales to $2 billion, compared to $75 billion of Amazon, so it is no surprise that Amazon wants to be in the game as well.
