November had Black Friday and Cyber Monday, both of which eBay was betting big on too. eBay reported that 12:00pm PST was the peak shopping time on desktop computers, and 7:00pm PST was the peak shopping time on mobile and overall.

eBay also reported that mobile GMV (gross merchandise volume) share vs. desktop increased 15% year-over-year. We are seeing reports that mobile has been growing fast this holiday weekend for all ecommerce websites and is becoming a bigger part of online sales every year. This means eBay needs to continue investing into making eBay.com appear well on mobile phones, which had its struggles since many products’ descriptions are not made to be looked on smaller screens.

eBay is full of surprising sellers and sometimes it is hard to tell the story behind them. Seller prolenny from Kuwait saw 1965.45% growth this month selling luxury handbags, purses, shoes, and accessories, but they seem to have accumulated all of their feedback ratings by selling cheap products at very large quantities. In a way bootstraping into a well rated seller, so we aren’t able to confirm if they are going to stay that way for long, to us this looks like suspicious behavior.

Major retailers are using eBay as an outlet, for example toysrus and targetstores are doing so successfully.

We used feedback growth as a method to estimate how much a seller has been able to grow their sales. Feedback growth is calculated by comparing feedback ratings amount on November 1st and November 30th. The table below is top 100 sellers ranked by the growth rate.
